LOW BRASS LESSONS:
Expert guidance to hone your chops!
I'm Rachel Goodman – a low brass instrumentalist and teacher based in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. I am a graduate teaching assistant at Illinois State University, studying euphonium with Dr. Andy Rummel, and hold a bachelor’s in music education from Arizona State University, where I graduated with honors.
Bloomington/Normal area euphonium and tuba lessons for all ages. Whether you’re just starting out in elementary school band, preparing for regional, all-state, or college auditions, or you simply enjoy playing and want to get better, I would love to help!
With a background in Suzuki violin and experience in choir and jazz band, I emphasize aural perception in my low brass teaching. I have taught students of all ages, both privately and in public schools, with many participating in regional and all-state festivals. While euphonium is my primary instrument, I also teach tuba. Passionate about exploring various musical genres—from medieval music to jazz—I bring enthusiasm to both performance and education, fostering curiosity and growth in my students.
